All visitors travelling to the Republic of Kenya must have an approved Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) before the start of their journey (unless you are a citizen of the East African Partner States). The cost of a Kenya eTA is $30 (USD), and it's valid for 90 days for a single entry.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
-
Cost: The eTA fee is $30.
-
Validity: The eTA is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, allowing for a single entry into Kenya.
-
Application: All non-Kenyan citizens, including infants and children, need to apply for an eTA before their trip.
-
Where to apply: Applicants shall visit the eTA website to make applications.
Please get in contact if you need an invitation letter from CCI or from African Christian Camping (ACC).
Do I need vaccinations for Kenya?
Different countries do offer specific advice for their residents, so please do check on your government website for this information.
This general guidance was valid as of July 2024:
For people travelling directly into Kenya from Europe or North America, no vaccinations are required. People transiting countries in the Yellow Fever transmission zone, en route to Kenya, require a Yellow Fever certificate to enter Kenya. And if you're visiting a neighbouring country to Kenya *after* being in Kenya, you will also require a Yellow Fever certificate. Older people (60+) or those with certain conditions are advised against having the YF jab, as it's a live vaccine, and those travellers need a YF exemption certificate.
As a precaution, you can talk to your health care provider about malaria tablets. This isn't a matter of certificates being checked, but more of a personal health decision.
How do I get to the venue?
If you are traveling from JKIA airport to the venue on 19 October and from the venue to JKIA on 23 Oct then we will be arranging transport for you. The transport will run from 12pm on 19 Oct and up to 10:30am on 23 Oct, we will confirm times and meeting points once we have more information about flight details.
If you are traveling any other day or would rather make your own way to the venue at your convenience then click here for the venue details.
What if my flight is a day earlier or a day later than the event?
If you arrive early or leave later we recommend that you stay at a hotel located near the airport so that you can still make use of the transport that we will be organising for you.
Can I arrive earlier or stay longer at the venue either before or after the Gathering?
Yes you can - if you let us know the additional night(s) you wish to stay then we will liaise with the venue to make a booking for you, this will be at an additional cost to you.
If you do arrive earlier or stay later at the venue you will need to make your own way from and to the airport
Do I need to take my own linen?
No, towels and all bed linen will all be provided by the venue.
Can I purchase food on-site?
as well as the main dining hall where we will have all our meals, Brackenhurst also has a cafe on site - Muna Tree Café offers a wide array of coffees, teas, and comfort foods.
Will you be organising a safari?
Although we originally indicated that we would be organising an optional extra safari, there was a common consensus that the cost for this was too high so we decided to arrange a cheaper day out for those that want to stay on a bit longer. If you would like to organise a safari yourself then we can recommend connecting with either of the companies below who will help you with your arrangements:
ACTSAFRICA - Maasai Mara Reserve Safari
Brackenhurst is one of ACTSAFRICA's venues and there is an ACTSAFRICA office on site.
