Hello, my name is Monica Karimi

My journey of faith in Christ began at the age of 15 but it found a deeper anchor when I encountered Wendo Youth & Family Camp Trust, a campsite that is in my neighbourhood, in

2017 at the age of 17.

Camp became more than just a gathering for me, but a space that encouraged fellowship and growth. It was a space where I met God in a fresh and personal way, and where my faith was

both challenged and strengthened.

Through the experiences at camp, I not only grew spiritually but also found a community that reminded me that I wasn’t walking this journey alone. Through camp I learnt how to crochet

from fellow campers which started as a pass time hobby that has now blossomed into a business.

This year, by the grace of God, I crocheted 205 beanies and donated them to special needs children as part of my service to the Special Needs camps that happens every year in Wendo

from the month of May to August.

During camp in 2022, I undertook a short course on Bible interpretation by Veritas College International where I learned how to make my quiet time with God meaningful. Out of those

moments of intimacy, God placed the dream of a business in my heart (Quiet Time Studio), one that doesn’t just serve people practically but is also rooted in faith and creativity, teaching people how to study the bible while having fun activities like colouring.

Looking back, I realize how camp has shaped the person that I am today, teaching me to listen, to believe, to fellowship and to step out in faith. I am deeply grateful for how God has used it as a stepping stone in my journey with Him.

Thank you for giving me the space to share my story. I’m truly grateful for the role camp has played in my journey, and I look forward to seeing how God continues to move through it.
