CCI CreationCare

For generations, Christian camping has helped people encounter God through His creation. In recent years, CCI has encouraged more intentional stewardship of the natural environments where camp ministry takes place through a program called EcoCare. As we reflected on this journey, we realized that a more natural, biblically rooted name better expresses what we seek to encourage.
Beginning this year, EcoCare will now be called CreationCare. Along with the new name, the logo reflects this calling—hands holding a living tree, reminding us that stewardship of God’s creation is rooted in faith.
CreationCare encourages camp leaders to connect with, cherish, and care for God’s creation as we share and live the gospel through camp ministry. The forests, rivers, lakes, oceans, meadows, and mountains where camps take place become places where people of all ages encounter the beauty, power, and presence of God. As we steward these environments faithfully, we help create spaces where lives are transformed and campers encounter Christ, bearing witness to His Lordship over all creation.
God created the world and called it good, entrusting humanity with its care. Through Christ, God is redeeming not only people but all creation, inviting us to live under His Lordship by loving God, loving our neighbors, and faithfully stewarding the world He has made.
The name change and our efforts to raise awareness and good practices also reflect the collaborative spirit of the global church. Together with ministries such as the Lausanne Movement, A Rocha, Scripture Union, and others, we are joining in a shared commitment to steward God’s creation under the Lordship of Christ.
We hope that within these pages you will find ideas and inspiration to develop this practice in your settings.
