I was introduced to camping ministry while pursuing my degree in Counselling Psychology in Daystar University. I gained not only that, but also a beautiful community to serve with and amazing opportunities to serve and lead. As they say, everything with a start has an end and I came to the end of my time in Daystar. Unfortunately for me, leaving meant I wouldn't have any of these anymore.

My heart was heavy and burdened. I felt torn from my home. I kept asking God why He'd introduce me to such a beautiful space and give me all these gifts only to take them away 4 years later. I asked Him what He wanted me to do with what I had learnt and gathered from camping ministry. I was overwhelemed. That was right before I attended African Christian Camping (ACC) training conference (2024) in Rwanda.

God is surely not a man, and lives up to His Word:

"If you seek me you will find me when you

seek me with all your heart".

At the ACC conference, the first (and main) speaker was a life coach with 10+ years of experience in camping ministry. His wife was a psychologist who had contextualised her content to befit camp. He spoke profoundly on our value, identity and purpose besides more camping content.

Someone once said:

"When I pray, coincidences happen. When I don't, they don't."

God was undoubtedly intentional in the smallest detail in showing me what to do with my career and my passion for cmping ministry in ways that seemed 'coincidental' during that week of the conference. He wasn't done after that either! God went ahead and led me to join the CCI Global Leadership Program for Emerging Leaders so that He can equip me for the work ahead.

I look back at this journey and I am reminded that my presence in the Global Leadership Program is a testimony that God is still at work.

It is great to be reminded that people are being reached through the Christian Camping ministry all around the world.
